PARDON OUR MESS :3
Hello there! You’ve made it to Matt Magill’s Online Design Portfolio™! This is a great place to be on the Internet, but I will admit that the bar for that is pretty low these days. Have you been out there on the free-range Internet lately? It’s terrible, to say the least.
BUT… instead of let me tell you why this corner of the Internet is awesome: I’m a pretty badass designer and a pretty cool dude all-around. Ask anyone. Ask my cat. Ask my wife. Ask my mom. They will tell you the truth. Trust me. Two out of those three think I’m weird! It’s up to you to figure out who is whom.
While I would love to have a really cool, in-depth website portfolio of my work with tons of pages of cool projects and stuff, I am fresh out of grad school, so I am currently building my little kingdom out here on Internet. I’m happy you’re here.
ABOUT ME
I am an Oklahoma City-based designer and artist with over twelve years of professional experience in visual marketing and communication. In my early professional career in design, I specialized in designing for the built environment through wayfinding and signage, and worked closely and collaboratively with my teams to deliver results-based solutions to clients ranging from The University of Texas to Greystar Worldwide to the FBI Offices in Quantico. My love for designing for the built environment helped In addition to my professional work, I would take on freelance design and art projects spanning a range of deliverables, everything from art direction to album design. Essentially, I’ve always been a guy that just loved making things, experimenting with things that I loved and seeing how something worked and how I would approach it to solve a problem.
I graduated with my BFA in Visual Communication from the University of Oklahoma in 2013, and after nine long years in the professional field of design, I returned to school to receive my MFA from SCAD in 2025. My graduate school experience helped me develop my own personal understanding of the why of design. Why is our work important and how we are totally possible of making true, genuine change using design, only if designers One of the primary reasons for grad school was because of my interest in talking about the effect of design and educating other designers on different, more honest ways about how we can use design
